Mold Safety Committee

Work is in progress to develop an American National Standard for Molds installed in Horizontal Injection Mold Machines.

The purpose of this standard is to identify and address known hazards to personnel working on, or adjacent to, a mold used in a HIMM.

The requirements of this standard shall apply to molds that are used in HIMMs. Safety requirements for ancillary equipment for molds are not covered by this standard. This standard does not address mold maintenance when the mold has been removed from the HIMM.
