Apprentice Training Grant Program
The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. Moldmakers Division, in 1998, established this grant program as a way of promoting and encouraging moldmaking in the U.S.
Eligibility
Institutions or organizations that provide specific training for moldmakers for the plastics industry. In-house training programs provided by a moldmaking business are not eligible for grant funding.
Requirements
The institution or organization must provide the SPI Moldmakers Division Policy Board with written/published material or information on the scope, purpose and objective of their program.
Procedure
The institution or organization will submit, in writing, a request for grant assistance to the SPI Moldmakers Division Executive Director. The SPI Moldmakers Division Policy Board will review and consider all submittals, and will make a determination based on the information provided.
Awards
Awards of up to $6,000 per applicant ($2,000/yr. for 3 years) will be made to successful institutions or organizations. Accepted institutions or organizations will be required to submit an annual progress report to maintain funding. Re-application for refunding is permitted after 3 years.
Publicity
The institution or organization receiving SPI Moldmakers Division grant funding agrees to allow the use of their name and the names of individuals associated with the program for promotion of the SPI Moldmakers Division Grant Program.
