Moldmakers Division
The Moldmakers Division of the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) represents moldmakers who manufacture plastic part molds. In addition to providing a forum for exchanging knowledge and experience among members, the Division's major promotion is in support of a "Buy U.S." theme.
Objectives
The purpose and objectives of the Moldmakers Division are:
- To enhance communications about plastics moldmaking within and without the industry, and to promote the development of new applications, and proper use of plastics molds, by assembly and dissemination of scientific, engineering, and other information;
- To support appropriate testing programs and the development of: technical specifications, chemical and physical test procedures, and performance standards, where appropriate, through use of the established procedures of recognized national and international standards developing organizations.
- To promote the growth and prestige of the plastics moldmaking industry by encouraging the use of good manufacturing practices and compliance with recognized standards of performance;
- To compile and disseminate technical, statistical, and other data of interest to the industry, the public and governmental bodies;
- To cooperate with private or governmental bodies in the advancement of the industry and its employees;
- To assist in planning, aiding and developing apprentice training ads for future manpower; and
- To maintain liaison and cooperate with other moldmaking and allied trade and professional associations in the United States and in other countries.
